About Me

My name is Leonard Osakpolor Aigbokhaevbo I’m an Information Technology Specialist with concentration on Cyber-SECURITY. I have experience in computer repair and small office network setup and configurations, with little expertise in cyber security. Highly intellectual and curious to finding how one thing inter-connects to another. I choose this career because I want to someday go back to my country (Nigeria) and start-up a tech Not for Profit-Non Government Organization were I can train Nigerian youths from middle class below how to be expert in different Computer Science aspects that will make them competitive and in return make Nigeria Great.

I came from a very rich family (the inverse is correct [very poor]) and I have the privilege to live in the United State. I will definitely go back to my country to invest in my society (the Youths).

Information System and Technology University of Texas Dallas

I am currently a student at North Lake College (which is a two years’ college) and I will be graduating in Spring of 2016. Before graduation from North Lake College, I already will be transferred to University of Texas Dallas to continue my degree program in Information System and Technology. My goals at University of Texas Dallas is to first earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Information System and Technology. Eventually, I have goals to teach at a college level and earn a Master of Science in Information Technology and Management. Growing up I have always had the strong desire to fight crimes with technologies and make the world a better place. I gripped to this concept throughout my high school career. However, my interest for STEM was elevated when I worked with a company called SMS Info-comm were I was a computer repair technician. With great curiosity for a step higher, I got an advanced certification in ComptiaA+ and CCNA. The opportunity those certifications gave me have made me choose to get a degree in what I love. Now, I’m a volunteer with Baylor IT department learning hands-on for mastering.

When it comes to leadership and community involvements, that is my life story. I’m currently an active member/volunteer with Keep Irving Beautiful, Feed the Children, Dallas CASA among others. This organization are where I put in hundreds of hours volunteering every time. Be it, planting trees, fund raising for homeless kids, cleaning up the lake, trash-off, advocating for an abused child in the court, or simply recycling waste every weekend, the skill and appreciate I get from those community service has made me a better person and they are invaluable.

I'm also the president of Africa Students Union of North Lake College. I organized this union because it came to my notice that there were many Africans on campus but we didn't have any connection with one another. This union was established to strengthen friendship, as well as assist ourselves academically. An ASU-NLC member who is good at math will be tutor to another ASU member who is not (for example). I'm also the VP of Events with the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. I'm also a member of the Student Leadership Institute. I’m an active committee member in Student Government Association. I’m also a volunteer with Baylor Hospital where I learn technical skills hands-on.

I'm a computer repair specialist who also have great skills and experience in computer networking and network security. With my involvement in school and my communities, I occasionally give public speeches, and organized events. Being a leader in most organizations in my college, every day I solve problems, whether it's getting a good location for the next event, or finding a better way to address students’ issues, or trying to fixed a computer over the phone, or configuring IP addresses for my home and school networks, or just writing up a good proposer or petitions for something important. Every day I solve tens of problems and I learn new skills.
